Mock Wedding at 1800 Drayton | Spartanburg Wedding Photographer

Back in February I got a good portion of my team (picture dancing excited emjoi right here because I’m doing a happy dance with even typing “team”) together to go through a little training and practice prior to weddings starting in a few weeks. Y’all it was sooo much fun to have these ladies with me as I went through all things wedding day and photography and Kendra Martin Photography and I am so excited about what 2020 and beyond holds!! When I started thinking about training my ladies in a non-wedding environment I knew that I needed to still train them with a real couple and real reception details so when I reached out to 1800 Drayton to see if their space was available and they said yes I then reached out to my friend and colleague Heather from Timeless Events and Renee of Renee Burroughs Designs to see what we could come up with for my team to practice on…. and y’all I LOVE how it all came together!! Working with 1800 Drayton, Heather & Renee was amazing and if you don’t know who they are you should go check them out!!

I then needed a couple… I reached out to my past couples to see who wanted to hop back in their wedding garb and Alex & Jeff jumped at the chance!! Well I don’t know if Jess jumped at the chance but Alex did 🙂 and Jeff came along for the ride!! I LOVED LOVED LOVED having them back in front of my camera a few months short of their one year wedding anniversary. McKenzie of MMarie H&M did hair and makeup for Alex and she is a doll to work with!! AND THEN I brought on Will Wright to video the entire day for all sorts of later uses!! I first met Will at Alex & Jeff’s wedding because he was their wedding videographer!! His team was amazing and even when I was SUPER nervous about being in front of the camera they totally helped ease my nerves!! It’s one thing to be photographed but to be videoed (KNOWING I am going to use the material at some point) I was a nervous wreck. All of that to say… the people I brought on for this mock wedding to train my team were amazing and I LOVED working alongside all of them!!! I could probably write a whole lot more but I want to get to the images… here are a few of my favorites from that afternoon!!!

Alex actually asked me if we could do a first look between her and Jeff since they didn’t do one on their wedding day and she wishes she now would have… you better believe I said YES!!!

And then on to the ceremony part of our day where I had these two write love notes to one another and read them aloud!! That was totally Will’s idea and I took it and ran with it because I thought it would be perfect since they’ll be celebrating 1 year of marriage pretty soon!!!

These two make me smile!! Loved having them back in front of my camera and love that they were up for whatever on a very chilly/windy afternoon!!! Alex & Jeff, thank y’all sooo much for doing this with me!!!!!
