Amanda + Carson | Downtown Greenville Surprise Proposal

The exact same day Carson contacted me to photograph his proposal to Amanda, Amanda contacted me to ask for information and y’all that was the hardest thing in the world to KNOW when she was getting engaged but NOT tell her!!! Carson and I continued to plan the proposal over the next month without Amanda knowing. I even went as far as to say and do things on social medial to throw her off the trail (if she was at all suspecting it… SORRY AMANDA!!! I wanted you to have NO idea it was happening)!! About a week out the weather forecast for December 31st wasn’t looking good. Thankfully we had a backup plan IF it rained… but it didn’t!! We had the MOST BEAUTIFUL Tuesday afternoon!! It was windy as all get out but it was beautiful!!

I arrived downtown WAY early to scout out where Carson had decided to propose. I wanted to make sure I was in a good spot and that I’d go unnoticed… me and the two others I brought with me to help document this sweet moment!! I was sitting in the open and there was NOBODY around but the three of us ladies so I was a tad nervous I’d be spotted, but Carson had a good enough reason to be going where he was going and I’d purposely said a few things on IG to make her think I was 100% done for the year with sessions that I knew she wouldn’t be looking for me. It also helped that at the SAME moment they started walking up a family of like 20 deep came right to where I was and so I totally blended in… granted they got in my way and were in the exact spot Carson was going to propose … but we both improvised (and he had NO idea where I was either) and he totally caught Amanda off guard when he got down on one knee and proposed!!

Y’all it was such a sweet moment and one that I will never forget and it was such an honor to be right there photographing it as it happened!! I am sooo excited for these two and I can’t wait for their summer wedding!!!! Here is a little glimpse into the moment it all happened and then afterwards we had a little session :)!!!

The image below on the right was the moment Amanda realized I was there :)!! Y’all I love my couples soo much!!!!

Rachel & Ben were married on an incredible fall weekend in the upstate of South Carolina.  The weekend started out with family and friends celebrating these two at the Greenville Country Club for the rehearsal dinner.  The included hugs, the most beautiful toasts, and Ben grabbing his guitar and playing/singing for guests.  That evening set […]

For the last few years I’ve photographed Ballet Spartanburg’s performances of the Nutcracker.  It is an honor to capture these incredible students and professional dancers that share the stage for this family favorite in the heart of Spartanburg, SC.  Most years I capture the dress rehearsals, this past year due to a wedding in Charleston […]

After 18 years and hundreds & hundreds of weddings, I’ve had a front-row seat to some of the most thoughtful, personal, and beautifully designed wedding days across the Southeast. And when couples ask me what I remember most about a wedding, the answer is almost always the details. I think about the invitation suite printed […]
