Greenville, SC Wedding Photographer | Why I love photographing weddings!!

I love photographing weddings, I really, really do!!  I remember the first time I attended a wedding as a photographer like it was yesterday (and 5 years later I still get the same butterflies that I got that afternoon).  That day I was actually second shooting for one of my now best friends & I remember just eating it all up and loving every second of it.  Well lots of second shooting that year and in August of the same year I was shooting my first wedding on my own and have been shooting weddings ever since.  To think that that was 5 years ago blows my mind!!  5 years has flown by and I have had the opportunity to capture so much love & joy, and I can’t wait to keep documenting wedding days & telling bride & groom’s stories!!!  Being a wedding photographer is so incredibly special.  I get to be there for intimate moments that most will never see, and maybe never hear about.  I get to see parents & friends reactions as the bride slips into her gown for the final time, I get to experience the brides giddiness about walking down the aisle in a few short hours, if the bride & groom do a first look I get to see the awe in a grooms eyes when he sees his bride for the first time (and his smile ALWAYS kills me), I get to sometimes see the last few seconds of just dad & daughter before those doors open and he walks her down the aisle to her groom (That is probably one of my favorite moments on a wedding day… now as a mom it means soo soo much to me because it’s a daddy getting ready to give his baby girl away!!!), I get to know the in’s and out’s of all the different things that’ll happen that day/evening & I ABSOLUTELY LOVE ALL OF IT!!!  I love that my brides welcome me with open arms and make me part of their family & are so comfortable with me when I walk through those doors to say hello and start photographing details, I love when everyone is outside waiting on the bride & groom to exit but I get them to myself for just a few seconds to say goodbye and give hugs & then capture them as they go off to start their lives together as a married couple.  I love the lace, the taffeta, the big hair, the shoes, the flowers, the cake (OHH and if it’s red velvet I’m in love even more), the dancing, the toasts, the first dance, the father/daughter dance… You guys… I seriously love capturing it all and being there for it all.  I can’t thank my brides & grooms enough for the trust & love they have given me over the past 5 years!! I have been so blessed & I can’t wait to see what the next 5 years holds with wedding photography for me!! Looking forward to all the brides & grooms I’m going to get to meet and photograph!!!!!

This image is from a wedding that will hit the blog next week… I adore this bride & her mom so so much… I love that this moment is captured, a moment of love, of excitement, and I’m guessing… but probably reminiscing from mom as she just placed the veil ( the veil that had HER wedding day lace on it) on her daughter’s head… Ohh the love that’s in this photo… photos like this are why I adore being a photographer & getting to document a wedding day!!!!
