Emily…

Back in August 2005 God brought Emily into my life!!!  Earlier that spring I had helped found a Christian sorority on UNCW’s campus and that fall we welcomed our first set of girls.  Emily got lucky 😉 enough to have me as her “big sister”… Over the next two years I developed an amazing friendship with her.  We prayed, laughed, cried, dug into God’s word, and did life together.. we even worked together at one point… ohh and somehow I talked her into standing with me on my wedding day… Needless to say, Emily became one of my dearest and best friends… When I look back on my college years Emily is one of the reasons I can look back and smile… We graduated in 2007 and even with living in cities halfway across the country from one another, we have somehow managed to grow together as friends and still do life together.  Emily is one of the most amazing women I have ever met.  Her desire to know God and serve Him is so inspiring.  Emily stands firm in her faith and speaks truth in love.  She is honest, pure, loving, funny, beautiful, caring, shy, adventurous, obedient, patient, and honest.  Emily is the kind of woman I want to be, and most definitely want Kenzie to be.  Her passion for the Lord is incredible… her love for her family and friends is something I can’t even begin to describe.  She loves with her whole heart… and because of the way she loves… you know when she speaks truth into your life that it’s done because she loves you and cares about you.  Emily, you are an incredible friend.  I love you and am so thankful that 7 years ago God placed you in my life.  You have taught me so much… you have challenged me to be a better person, friend, wife, daughter, mom, and most importantly follower of Christ.  Don’t ever forget how special you are, how beautiful you are, and how much you are loved!!!  Thank you for loving me and my family so much.  Thank you for wanting to come meet Kenzie and love on her!!!  I can’t wait till she gets to know you and I am so excited that she has you to look up to!!!

While Emily was in Texas we went out and did a mini photo session… I wanted to snap a few photos of her and she wanted to do a little shooting herself.  Emily loves photography so it’s been fun to talk photography with her and get to shoot with her… even if it was for only a short time!!  Emily is an amazing writer and started a blog a few years ago… I love when I get on my google reader and see that she’s written something because what and how she writes is beautiful to me… it’s like I’m sitting at the coffee shop across the table from her and hearing her talk/teach/share her soul… Thank you for being willing to share what God lays on your heart Emily!!  Be sure to check out her blog… just click here!!!  Here’s a few photos I snapped of Emily…
