I realized early in my photography career that I’m not “just a photographer” :)!! One thing I become is someone who has to try and figure out what the weather is going to do…. and then work around whatever it does. Out of everything for a wedding day… the weather can be the most stressful!! The week of Laura & Paul’s wedding was probably one of the most stressful weather wise to date. And I say that knowing I’ve photographed weddings in rain and hurricanes and fog and snow and all the things before… but there was a hurricane that went straight through the upstate and for days we were not only supposed to have 100% rain on that Saturday.. but crazy winds. Rain, I can do… winds bring on a whole other aspect as a wedding photographer!!
Y’all I have NO idea how it happened… but we didn’t have ANY rain and we only had very little wind when the day arrived. I remember at one point all of us talking about how perfect the weather was and actually how perfect the day was!! Everyone involved with the day had been throwing around “wath ifs” and plan B’s for days and expecting worse case scenarios… that when we didn’t have to deal with any of it… there was calm about the day that I’ve never experienced before. It also helped that Laura & Paul had two things they cared about that day… getting married and celebrating with their people and so everything else was secondary.
Laura & Paul have the most gentle, joyful and kind spirits about them and I have LOVED every time I’ve gotten to talk and spend with them. Their wedding day was a day where they were showered with love and support and it was beautiful to watch and four months past it think about!! Laura & Paul, it was an honor to document y’alls wedding day and I’m so excited to share some of my favorite moments from the day!!!
