Folly Beach Engagement Session | Carly & Duke

I first met Carly a few years ago at Hunter’s proposal/surprise engagement party!! I then got to spend a little time with her at Hunter’s wedding last year and so when she contacted me earlier this year about photographing her and Duke’s wedding day I was so excited!! These two are a lot of fun and so sweet and and I am so excited for them!! They will be getting married in the Charleston area next spring and when I last minute planned a trip to Charleston in June I reached out to them to see if they’d be interested in doing their engagement session down there… they said YES!!!! So on a VERY warm June day we met up at Folly beach. We originally were going to do a little ocean side and marsh side… but the weather that night made us decide to keep our walk short and stay in the one location… and I am soo glad we did!! The lighting and our time together was amazing and I have been itching to get these images posted!!! Can’t stop smiling at these images!!!! I’m a HUGE fan of beach sessions!!! Carly & Duke, I loved getting to spend the evening with y’all and I can’t wait to see y’all again back in Charleston next spring!!! Here are a few of my favorite images from their engagement session!!

Photography is in my blood and seeking truth is in my soul. Which is a deep way of saying, I’ve loved to take photos for a really long time, y’all. I’d love to share my story with you then listen to yours.

I was standing on a porch in Highlands last fall, watching the fog roll down over the mountains while a bride got her veil pinned in by her mom. Nobody was rushing. There was coffee going cold on a side table and somebody’s grandfather telling a story in the next room. And I remember thinking: […]

Some of my favorite photographs from a wedding weekend are taken with everyone in khakis. I’ve been thinking about that lately. After almost twenty years of photographing weddings, I’ve learned that the moments my couples come back to years later are not always the ones you would expect.  The first look matters. The vows matter. […]

Rachel & Ben were married on an incredible fall weekend in the upstate of South Carolina.  The weekend started out with family and friends celebrating these two at the Greenville Country Club for the rehearsal dinner.  The included hugs, the most beautiful toasts, and Ben grabbing his guitar and playing/singing for guests.  That evening set […]
