New York Engagement Session | Chelsie & Liam

I’ve been trying to figure out what I was going to say with this particular blog post. Chelsie & Liam are getting married at Clemson later this month and I get to photograph their wedding day. When we were talking last fall they mentioned that they were going to find someone in New York City to photograph their engagement photos in Central Park when the cherry trees were in bloom. Well I commented that if they were interested I could come up and photograph them (I honestly thought it was a long shot… and didn’t know if we could make schedules match up)… so when I got the email from them saying that “yes they wanted me to come” I did a happy dance (go watch my reel on instagram today… I’m pretty sure that’s the happy dance I probably did). Even on the way to the airport I couldn’t believe I was heading to to NYC for an engagement session… but I was and y’all it was such a surreal moment for me. NYC is one of those “ohh it would be awesome to photograph someone there, but it’s a dream kind of thing”… so for it to actually happen… AHHHHHHHH!!!! I’m still giddy about it. So I start this blog post by wanting to tell Chelsie & Liam THANK YOU!! Thank you for trusting me and wanting me to travel from South Carolina to NYC to photograph your engagement photos. I had SOOOO much fun with y’all and can’t wait to see y’all in 20ish days again!!!!!

So the whole goal was to take photos with the cherry trees that bloom in Central Park. I feel like this year all over the east coast everything bloomed a few weeks early… so we weren’t sure what we were going to get. Liam & Chelsie did a walk around the park almost a week before our session to nail down locations and at the time it was looking like the blooms would be perfect when I was there. WELLLLLLLLLL a storm blew up the entire east coast the DAY BEFORE I flew up to NYC. And the day I flew in the wind was INSANE (flight delay/worst landing I’ve ever experienced in MY LIFE on that day!!!!).. soooooooooo we didn’t have cherry blossoms… until the very end of our session when I just happened to be looking off to the right while we were walking and out of the corner of my eye spotted a tree with blossoms still on it!!!!!! So while we didn’t get a whole session of flowers, we got to end the session with the flowers and it was perfect!!

Chelsie & Liam, I had soo much fun with y’all!!! Here are a few of my favorite images from the session.

I grew up in a house full of photos. My dad or I when I was old enough, was always behind a camera…family dinners, road trips, Sunday afternoons that probably didn’t seem worth documenting but somehow always were. That’s where I fell in love with this work. And somewhere along the way, I also learned […]

Meredith and J.G. invited their family and friends to the Piermont Cottage, which is part of Old Edwards Inn for brunch and farewells the morning after their wedding day.
The morning was full stories that were filled with laughter and joy!! It was the perfect way to end an amazing weekend. Venue  | The Farm […]
