Eva & Clay’s Greenville Wedding | Greenville Wedding Photographer

Eva and Clay were married at the beginning of June and their wedding was my first Greek wedding and now I’m smitten!! The joy surrounding these two ALL day was so much fun to be around. As soon as I walked into the airbnb where Eva was getting ready with her bridesmaids I could feel how much they love her and support her!! All the bridesmaids were so incredibly sweet and helpful and gosh can we go back and do this day again because it was soo much fun!!!

The weather on June 5th was dicey and we ended up getting rained on when I was doing portraits prior to the ceremony. I’ve never been so thankful for a churches portico in my life!!! By the the the ceremony started the sun was out!! If you’ve never been do a traditional Greek wedding… let’s just say I’m not sure how anyone on stage doesn’t just collapse with the hour of standing that they do :)!!! One of the groomsmen not only had to stand but he had to stand hold two LARGE candles!!! Regardless of the standing for an hour thing… the ceremony was so incredibly beautiful!! The rituals and meanings behind everything were so special and it was an honor to be on the stage documenting everything that was happening!!! One of the bridesmaids at one point said “how do I sign up to become Greek?!” and y’all I felt the same way that day because of the love, joy, support and just sacredness that was in every part of the day!!!

If you’ve followed me for any amount of time you know that during ceremonies even when they are outside I stay back or really wide. From the very beginning of my career it’s been the way I’ve photographed weddings. The pastor at the very first wedding I ever photographed told me “you don’t come past this point… this is a ceremony, it’s sacred and you don’t want to be a distraction”. Well I’ve always kept those thoughts in my head… and most churches have rules where you’re required to stay in the back so there’s that!! But for this particular church the photographer stands ON THE STAGE WITH THE WEDDING PARTY!!!! Y’all I about had a heart attack being up front… BUT because I was up front I was about to see Eva & Clay’s faces the entire ceremony!! Throughout the ceremony Eva & Clay would glance at each other and then just start beaming, it was the sweetest thing ever!!! So glad that’s where they place the photographer so I could capture their reactions throughout the ceremony.

I LOVED the ceremony… but y’all… I LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED Eva & Clay’s reception even more!!! Again, this is me being all giddy thinking back to their day and it being my first greek wedding so I was all sorts of surprised around every corner!! I’ve probably never taken that many photos during a reception in my 13ish years of photographing weddings!! Eva & Clay and their guests HAD FUN!!!!!!! I’m soo excited to share a few snippets of their reception with y’all because it was a lot of fun!!!

Eva & Clay, Thank y’all so much for wanting me to document your wedding day, it was an honor!!!

Photography is in my blood and seeking truth is in my soul. Which is a deep way of saying, I’ve loved to take photos for a really long time, y’all. I’d love to share my story with you then listen to yours.

One of the most important choices you’ll make while planning your wedding is choosing your photographer. Think about it—the flowers will wilt, the food will be devoured, but your photos? They’re what will bring you right back to the moments that matter most, long after the day is over. So.. it’s crucial to research and […]

I met up with Brittany, Chris and their little girl at the Biltmore House for both couples portraits and family photos and it was the sweetest afternoon. It was right as everything was starting to bloom so we had beautiful color and the most amazing weather. We wandered around the grounds and took photos in […]
