Sarah & Joey’s Charleston Engagement Session

This was attempt number three for Joey and Sarah’s engagement session! And spoiler alert…. this time the session happened!!! We had originally planned to do the session while we were at Daufuskie Island in July but it didn’t work out and then rain kept us from a session one Friday morning in August (and y’all I felt soo bad because they were dressed and ready and as we were all driving there it started to rain!!!) Gary and I had already talked about heading to Charleston this fall so we solidified plans and headed down for the weekend and I photographed a few sessions while I was there one of them being this engagement session and y’all I’m hooked on photographing in Charleston now! I’ve photographed at the beaches nearby and we’ve had our photos taken downtown Charleston, but the weekend we went was my first time photographing anything and y’all it was such an amazing weekend!!

I met up with Sarah and Joey that Saturday evening down near the battery and it was so good to see them. Not to mention we had the MOST BEAUTIFUL WEATHER!! Weather in October in South Carolina can be dicey but we lucked out that weekend!! We started the sessions on the same street where Joey proposed and when I asked them about why that spot and he said it was just where he did it… I’m a big fan of random and y’all the spot was beautiful and quiet and the perfect place to begin our session. For the next hour we spent our time wandering around downtown and the battery and y’all I had soo much fun with Sarah & Joey! I loved getting to know these two a little better and I’m pretty sure I smiled their whole session and it has me super excited for their December wedding. Here are a few of my favorite images from their Charleston engagement session!

I grew up in a house full of photos. My dad or I when I was old enough, was always behind a camera…family dinners, road trips, Sunday afternoons that probably didn’t seem worth documenting but somehow always were. That’s where I fell in love with this work. And somewhere along the way, I also learned […]

Meredith and J.G. invited their family and friends to the Piermont Cottage, which is part of Old Edwards Inn for brunch and farewells the morning after their wedding day.
The morning was full stories that were filled with laughter and joy!! It was the perfect way to end an amazing weekend. Venue  | The Farm […]

Meredith and John Grady were married on a beautiful, Friday afternoon in July in Highlands, North Carolina. Meredith began her day at the Farm at Old Edwards Inn, surrounded by so many incredible women in her life. The morning was full of joy, love, and an abundance of happy tears. After Meredith slipped into her […]
