Hunter & Drew’s Surprise Proposal | Spartanburg Wedding Photographer

Back in July Drew contacted me about photographing his proposal to Hunter. Y’all I squealed when I got the text because I was so excited and also because it meant I’d be photographing a friends engagement so it made it that much more special!! I didn’t realize how much though and detail Drew had put into this until I walked into CrossFit Spartanburg on August 22nd to photograph it. Drew had not only his family who lives locally be there, but Hunter’s family that lives in PA had secretly come into town as well as friends from here in Spartanburg and all over had come to celebrate their engagement as well.

Hunter & Drew met at CrossFit so it was the perfect place for Drew to ask Hunter to be his wife. Getting her there was a BIG plan but y’all it worked out perfect and she was completely surprised!! Drew had strung lights in the gym and was standing under them when she arrived and as soon as Hunter got over to Drew she threw her arms around him and wouldn’t let go. She said later that she knew what was happening at that point and she knew she was prolonging it but she was so happy she didn’t want to stop hugging him. Eventually she did and Drew got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. After she said yes she realized friends and family were hiding in the dark and from there the celebration began!! Lots of smiles and happy tears happened on this BEAUTIFUL Saturday evening and y’all it was such an honor to be there to photograph this moment for them. Now I can’t wait for their 2021 wedding day!! Here are a few of my favorite images from their surprise engagement!!

I was able to sneak them outside for a few quick portraits now that they are engaged!! Can’t wait to see them in a few months for their engagement session!!!

I grew up in a house full of photos. My dad or I when I was old enough, was always behind a camera…family dinners, road trips, Sunday afternoons that probably didn’t seem worth documenting but somehow always were. That’s where I fell in love with this work. And somewhere along the way, I also learned […]

Meredith and J.G. invited their family and friends to the Piermont Cottage, which is part of Old Edwards Inn for brunch and farewells the morning after their wedding day.
The morning was full stories that were filled with laughter and joy!! It was the perfect way to end an amazing weekend. Venue  | The Farm […]

Meredith and John Grady were married on a beautiful, Friday afternoon in July in Highlands, North Carolina. Meredith began her day at the Farm at Old Edwards Inn, surrounded by so many incredible women in her life. The morning was full of joy, love, and an abundance of happy tears. After Meredith slipped into her […]
