Happy Anniversary to my Mom & Dad!! | Spartanburg Wedding Photographer

35 years ago, these two got married and while their journey hasn’t been all roses and a cake walk, it’s been one (from my vantage point) that has been rooted in Jesus Christ and one that contains laughter & love & support & adventure!!  I am so incredibly grateful that God chose these two to be my parents.  He could have picked anyone, but he chose them for me and for that I can’t thank Him enough.  Through my entire life my parents have shown me through their relationship with each other and individually what it looks like to be in relationship with Jesus Christ… what it looks like to seek after Him (and that it’s okay to question, get mad, and not understand what He’s doing in our lives).  They have shown me what it means to be faithful & trust in Him.  They have shown me: what it means to love, to forgive, to support, go after dreams, put dreams on hold, that it’s okay to fail, that it’s okay to be sad, that it’s okay to want something more, they have shown me what it means to be there when it’s awesome…  as well as when it’s really hard, that it’s ok & good to set healthy boundaries, that you can say yes AND NO, they have shown me how to serve, to see Jesus in ALL people & LOVE them like Jesus does… no matter where they are from.. the color of ones skin.. whom they voted for or what their bank account show/doesn’t show… .  They have shown me that life is full of hard, easy, and everything in between and in ALL of those things God works and uses them to grow us closer to Him.  They’ve shown & taught me so many things and I can’t list them all out, but you get the picture and I am soo soo thankful for all that they have taught & shown me through their marriage.

Mom & Dad, first off Happy Anniversary!!! Secondly… mom, I’m glad you still decided to marry dad even though he threw you in a bush when you first started dating!!  Thirdly, thank you both for the example & love that you have set & lived out for not only me but for everyone that comes in contact with you two.  Your example & love is something I look at and to every day!!!  I love you two soo soo much!!!  Thank you also for ALWAYS showing that we can’t take life too seriously :)!!  I spent a little time at my parents this summer and while I was there I took a few photos of them… and let’s just say … my dad was NOT really feeling it :)!! As you can see he did cooperate for a few but he definitely goofed around on me :)!! Soo soo glad I was able to take these images of my parents!!!  Here are a few of my favorites!!
