The

Maternity

Maternity Photographer | Jenni & Allen

When Jenni asked me to take their maternity photos I was super excited.  Number one because when I had them in front of my camera last fall I had so much fun and number two I love getting to take maternity photos and don’t get to do it often enough!!  We met in Spartanburg a few Friday’s ago and while the entire week had been mild and lovely with the occasional shower… Friday came about and it was WINDY & COLD!!! The upstate needs to get it together weather wise!! As I photographed this session & then edited this session I couldn’t help but be soo stinking excited for Jenni & Allen.  The way they love one another, the kind of people they are, the way they love others… well it shows in all that they do so it is no surprise how much they love and adore this little kiddo!!  They are waiting till the birth to find out if baby is a girl or boy.  Side-note, I don’t know how you momma’s do it!!! There is NO way I could have done it.  I am all about planning and I very much dislike surprises so you couldn’t have paid me enough to hold off on finding out!! But kudos to you parents that do!!!  Back to Allen & Jenni!!!  I can’t wait to see them hold this sweet baby in their arms and see them be parents.  This kid has two incredible parents & it was such an honor to document this sweet time in their lives!!

So after we got off the phone I realized that I believe we are done and I feel like I'm still where I was when we started. Sure the numbers on google analytics you were showing me today are up, but from what I've always understood that has everything to do with visitors to my site and I've had awesome traffic on days this month because of the content published on my blog and me pushing it via social media. Had I not published the blog posts I published I know those numbers wouldn't have increased. The people coming to my website are not from organic searches... they are coming from social, referral, and directly. VERY few are coming from searches (and the ones coming from searches are probably all from the seo search groups I am part of. When I contacted you my main concern was why did I drop completely. I haven't had an inquiry from a search since November. I was under the assumption, and I should have clarified before doing all of this that you would go into my site and check it all out and fix what needed to be fixed. I feel like all I walked away with was seo tips. While they have been REALLY awesome tips that's not why I hired you. Sure I'm glad I know about youtube vidoes and that my site was crazy slow, and that I need to write more (but what's funny is that I have well over 300+ words on blogs for years back and for years I was on page one so I'm still just really confused. I've also ALWAYS had a slide show on my home page). I need to know what's broken on my site (other than speed and how large it is) and I need what is broken fixed. I need to know the the H1 and H2 and H3 whatever those are, are correct. That I'm using the correct tags and titles, etc... That my images are compressed the way they need to be, etc... I thought actual work would take place on my sites seo. I thought I read that all of that would be taken care of but I don't think any of it has been looked at. I thought your contract said you'd do a competitor bench mark analysis. I haven't seen that. I'm frustrated yes, because I spent money that I'm only seeing TIPS from. I've asked you about my site and if there is something I've done wrong or did something get messed up when I had the re-design but you haven't answered those questions. I heard awesome things about you and after chatting via email and reading what you'd be doing and the contract I thought my site would be cleaned up and then I'd be given a few tips for going forward. The fact that I forwarded you the cdn information immediately following our first call and you said you didn't get it just has me flustered. I am disappointed that right now I'm searching for other SEO companies to help me and I'm getting ready to spend more money that I don't have to get in and figure out what is wrong with my site. But I need help to be back on page one with the site I have, a site that is rich with images because that's what I do and other than the person I am, my images are a huge reason why people hire me and if they can't see images then it's pointless. I am going to push out videos and I'm going to be adding services pages (which I'm getting ready to pay an arm and a leg to have built) but at the end of the day I can't and won't cram videos all over my site that end with someone else's youtube videos. I have spent way too much money on my site to do that. Bottom line, I would like to know what you've done with my website in these last few weeks. I'd like to know what I spent my $500 on. I'm sorry I assumed and thought you'd be doing things. Sorry to have sent this email but I'm so confused as to why I am still sitting where I was weeks ago that I had to write. The tips have been awesome and thank you for them, but I don't think they were worth the $500 I spent.Geoffrey, Hi!!
