Spartanburg Photographers | Emily

Spartanburg Photographer | Kendra Martin Photography

God has blessed me with some amazing friends in my life and I couldn’t be more thankful for them, and one of those friends is this woman right here.  I met Emily a little over 11 years ago and I had no idea that she’d be one of those friends that I would and could call up at ANY hour of the day or night and she’d be there for me and vice versa.  She listens to my crazy antics, business ideas, complaining, dreaming, issues, news, good, bad, and EVERYTHING in between AND she has no problem in telling me when I’m wrong, crazy, dramatic, and everything else… She is crazy honest with me and I love it because we all need reality checks and I think it’s even better when those reality checks can come from a friend!! But Emily isn’t just a friend, she’s family.  Kenzie calls her Aunt Emily and so will Kenlee because that is who she is to us!! She’s my friend, she’s Gary friend/little sister, she’s the girls aunt and we love her and I really do thank God for her every single day.  She’s a friend that gets me and gets my family and we get her and we love her soo so much and think she should move down the highway ;)!! I kid, I kid… well sort of!!  Emily is the kind of person that you want to have coffee with on a weekly or even daily basis.  When she invests in you she does it 100%.  With her there is no half way or 75%… you get all of her… and she loves and treats you like you’re the most important person in her world.  She loves hard and she loves well and she makes you want to be a better person just by knowing her and being around her!!!  She is kind, funny, honest, loving, fun, someone you could sit with for hours and not say word with but you walk away being renewed just because you were with her.  She loves Jesus, her family… and especially her stinking cute nephew with her whole heart!! I have had the honor of doing life with her now for 11 years and I’ve seen chapters of her life open & close and seen how God has used her and worked in her in mighty ways and made her into who she is right this second.  God uses her to touch others even if she doesn’t realize it and I am soo thankful for how He has worked in and through her and that He placed her in my life all those years ago in college and that we would go on to have the friendship we have today!!  In October she came to help me with a wedding and while she was here she hopped in front of my camera and I am so glad she did!!!  Emily, thank you for wanting to get in front of my camera and thank you for putting up with me all these years ;)!! I love you my friend!!!!! Here are a few of my favorite photos from her session!!

Photography is in my blood and seeking truth is in my soul. Which is a deep way of saying, I’ve loved to take photos for a really long time, y’all. I’d love to share my story with you then listen to yours.

I photographed a wedding at a private estate two years ago where hair and makeup ran behind. We went from having an hour and a half for all of the portraits to having thirty minutes, and that thirty minutes still had to cover the bride and groom, the wedding party, and both families. While we […]

Palm Springs, California is one of those places you visit and you’ll never forget!! I loved my time there and really enjoyed my time with Sasha & Chloe for their session amongst the windmills!! We had so much fun and I’m so excited to share a handful of my favorite images from my session with […]

Bridal portraits are a very southern tradition and one that I love and will always get behind (even if it means we’re adding additional time on the wedding day to make sure we walk away with more than a few)!! My biggest piece of advice if you’re going to do a bridal portrait session is […]
