Engagement

Greenville, SC Wedding Photographers | Hannah & Brett

When Brett contacted me about photographing his and Hannah’s wedding day I was sooo stinking excited.  I was excited for a few reasons…. Brett’s younger sister was my actual first paying customer 🙂 when I decided that I was going to do this photograph thing, I have photographed Brett twice in college… once when he was going for Yell leader and then again when he graduated from Texas A&M, and I’ve also photographed his whole family.  So you can say his family means a lot to me.  They have supported me and cheered me on since the very beginning of Kendra Martin Photography and so for Brett to ask me to head down to Texas to document one of the most important days of his life, that means a lot and I am truly honored!!  I think I was most excited though… because I was going to get to meet Hannah and get to finally see these two together!!!  Y’all since the very first phone call with these two, and even the first emails back and forth I have felt like I’ve known Hannah just as long as I’ve known Brett and I have loved feeling that way!!  I was back in Texas at the beginning of the month doing a weekend of photography and one of the sessions I had the opportunity to photograph was Hannah & Brett’s engagement session.  Hannah hopped out of the car and gave me a hug and said “it’s so good to finally meet you” and between her and Brett asking how I was and how the girls are I realized that we literally were just friends catching up and that right there is why I love what I do.  I love the friendships that God has brought into my life because of photography.  I love getting to be part of peoples lives and document some of their most intimate moments.  I love that people want me to be there!!  Photography is a gift to me in so many ways and these two right here reminded me so many times during our time together why I do what I do.  Hannah & Brett are so much fun to be around, to photograph, to just be with.  The way they laugh and smile and have so much fun with each other is contagious and I think I had even more fun editing these photos than I did taking them because I had the chance to relive those moments.  The way they look at each other and love one another is something special and gosh I am soo soo blessed by the two of them.  Thank y’all for such a fun morning and I can’t wait to see y’all in just a few weeks!!!  Picking photos for this post was not an easy task… but here are a few of my favorites!!!

Photography is in my blood and seeking truth is in my soul. Which is a deep way of saying, I’ve loved to take photos for a really long time, y’all. I’d love to share my story with you then listen to yours.

I photographed a wedding at a private estate two years ago where hair and makeup ran behind. We went from having an hour and a half for all of the portraits to having thirty minutes, and that thirty minutes still had to cover the bride and groom, the wedding party, and both families. While we […]

Palm Springs, California is one of those places you visit and you’ll never forget!! I loved my time there and really enjoyed my time with Sasha & Chloe for their session amongst the windmills!! We had so much fun and I’m so excited to share a handful of my favorite images from my session with […]

I was standing on a porch in Highlands last fall, watching the fog roll down over the mountains while a bride got her veil pinned in by her mom. Nobody was rushing. There was coffee going cold on a side table and somebody’s grandfather telling a story in the next room. And I remember thinking: […]
