When you find someone to love on your fur baby for you when you’re out of town it’s awesome!!  Kayla & Anthony have loved on our Daisy a few times and we couldn’t be more thankful.  We don’t even have to think about her when we leave her with them because we know they will love her as one of their own!!  They watched her for us a few times this summer and so as a thank you I told them I’d like to do a session for them.  Well wheels went into motion for Anthony I believe ;)!! He asked Gary if he thought I’d mind if he popped the question during the session.  Well NO, I don’t mind!!!  So without Kayla’s knowledge Anthony & I started planning the perfect proposal months ago… What I really love about this story is that Kayla is the one that really made her proposal happen ;)!!  She made sure their outfits were just what she wanted, had her hair & makeup done, nails done (those were sort of at Anthony’s urging ;)), she helped pick location, date… you name it she had a hand in it… everything about this session Kayla touched and knew about (other than the proposal of course!!).

The date arrived and y’all it was probably the most beautiful weather of November… it was PERFECT!!!  I was soo nervous though… nervous enough that I got all my gear, the ring (yes Anthony trusted me with the ring… and usually I wouldn’t have said yes to that but I know him and he and Gary are friends so I made sure it was put away and kept safe!!), and chalkboards (You’ll read more about those in a bit) ready EARLY, EARLY that morning… even though the session was later in the afternoon!!  I wanted everything to be perfect!!  I met the two of them at a beautiful location and we started the session!!  As far as Kayla knew this was a couples session to say thank you and so that’s what I did for the first half of the session.  I was soooo stinking nervous… mainly because Anthony had given me full control of when the proposal would happen!!!  I usually have my couples do things like dance and walk together and other little things to evoke emotion and movement into my photos but I knew I had to do a little more in order to make “the proposal” part of the session seem legit to Kayla and like something I always do at session!!  We got to the spot where I wanted the proposal to happen and I gave the two of them chalkboards (and no I don’t usually carry chalkboards with me but Anthony thought it’d be a cute idea to have them write what they love most about each other… and I loved the idea, so I went with it) and had them turn their backs and stand a little bit away from one another.  I documented them writing and took Kayla’s photos first and from the beginning of this little “game” I kept telling them that they couldn’t turn around because we were going to go into something really fun afterwards.  So i grabbed her board and put it away, went over to Anthony took his photo and then took his board and got in place as he turned around and got down on a knee… at that point I asked Kayla to turn around and go give Anthony a hug… and that is when she saw him.  Y’all it was the sweetest!!! I have NO idea what Anthony was saying because I was too busy trying to keep it together while I was taking photos but I do remember Kayla just being in such a happy state of shock.  She at one point backed away and then went running at Anthony to kiss him!!  It was the sweetest and it was such an honor to be able to document this for them.

I let the two of them just do their thing for a little while and then we went on to take “engagement” photos!!!  This was such a fun fun session to document and be part of!!!  Anthony, thank you for wanting me to document this for you two!!  Thank you both for watching my fur baby so then all of this could go into motion!!  I am soooo stinking happy for y’all and I am sooo excited for y’all!!!!  Due to the proposal this session yielded A LOT of images… so there are quite a few here.  This was a hard session to pick photos for because I want to share them ALL…. but for now, here are just a few of my favorites!!
