Greenville Wedding Photographer | Valyn & Jon say I do

I have LOVED getting to know Valyn & Jon this year!! I met them back in January on probably the coldest day of the year and then had a lot of fun at their engagement session in March & then had Valyn in front of my camera once again for bridal portraits a month prior to their wedding day.  They are two people that just make me smile & I am so honored to have been able to document this special time in their lives!!  On a very rainy, October, Saturday afternoon I headed to Greenville to photograph their wedding at Twigs.  I kept hoping that the weatherman was just wrong and that there would be a break in the rain or something since both Friday & Sunday showed ABSOLUTELY ZERO CHANCE OF RAIN!!!  But it rained ALL day… well maybe not all day because when I headed home that evening I don’t remember having to use my wipers ;)!!!  You never wish rain on a persons wedding day, I don’t care if it’s said to be good luck or not, it’s just not something you want for them (good luck or not)… and as a wedding photographer it’s something that makes me want to just crawl back in bed because rain is just NO fun… But y’all it didn’t phase Valyn ONE BIT… not once did I hear her complain or say a thing about the rain.  This lady is one of the most loving, selfless women I have ever met and I don’t think she cared at all that it was raining (and the only reason I did was because I really wanted to get the two of them outside for some portraits and the weather just didn’t allow that)… but it didn’t matter to Valyn or Jon and I love that.  They were only concerned about one thing.  The only thing they cared about was getting to marry each other.  And that one thing made for an incredible day (rain or shine) and it made me love what I get to do as a photographer even more.  It made this part of their story something even more special… and it made me remember once again, that a wedding day is truly just about two people coming together as one and uniting in marriage… I’m just lucky enough to document it.  I’m lucky enough that they want me to document it!!  Wedding days are days filled with so much joy, anticipation, love, planning, fun, etc… they are days that I love to be part of… and I soooo loved being part of Valyn & Jon’s wedding day… I loved getting to be around the two of them, their friends, family, and getting to experience the love and support they all have for one another because of these two amazing individuals that are now husband and wife!!!  So yeah, this was a RAINY wedding day… but it didn’t matter… it doesn’t matter!! The rain is just a few pages in their story… a story that God is writing.  Gosh I can’t wait to see how He uses these two for His glory!!!!

Y’all I can say I was officially embarrassed when this AWESOME & smiley ring bearer literally stopped in front of me as he was coming down the aisle for me to take his photo.  AND it wasn’t just a quick stop and go… he stopped stopped, like probably would have stood there for a long time stopped… I think I definitely had to tell him to keep walking :)!!!  That was definitely a first for me and I probably was crazy red because I just wasn’t expecting it… but gosh he sure is precious and I could have photographed him forever!!!
