Melissa & Matt | Engagement Session | Greenville, SC Wedding Photographer | Spartanburg, SC Wedding Photographer

I absolutely love getting to photograph the people that are nearest and dearest to me!!! So this session in particular was very very very special to me!!!

I remember walking thru Target with Gary on Valentine’s evening waiting for our reservation time (the things you do as a married couple once you have kids 🙂 ) and I saw Melissa was trying to facetime me… but it was Valentine’s evening and I knew I wanted to spend time with Gary so I just thought “I’ll text her later and we can set up a date tomorrow”.  Well later (like 11pm) I did text her and from what I can remember she texted me back and said she had to tell me something.  I knew immediately what she needed to tell me :)… so I texted back “I’m up, call now”… turns out her phone was on silent and she didn’t get the text… but at like 6am the next morning on her way to work I got the phone call that had me smiling ear to ear and crying happy tears for my best friend.  Matt had proposed and they were getting married!!!!!!!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂  I’m not going to go into all the details but let’s just say Matt totally surprised Melissa and did one heck of a job popping the question!!!!!!!  I was and still am beyond thrilled for the two of them.

Me being me… I immediately started brainstorming when I’d see the two of them so we could take their engagement photos… turns out I ended up heading to NC for a bit of time this summer to spend time with family and between their busy schedules and Kenzie & I visiting mine and Gary’s family we didn’t have many options so we met up one of the first nights I arrived.  Heading to NC was a VERY last minute decision but the night I decided I was going I wrote Melissa and by the next morning she had found an awesome location.  So on a rainy/humid Sunday evening (thankfully we only had a few rain drops so we could still do the session) Matt & Melissa met me in Winston-Salem at the Reynolda House Gardens for their engagement photos.  If you live in NC and haven’t ever visited the house/gardens you totally should.  The gardens are amazing and I wish I lived there because I can see myself shooting there often :).  Melissa & Matt were amazing to photograph and so much fun to be around.  These two just ooze love for one another!!! I LOVE IT!!!  Y’all are perfect for one another & I am so blessed by the two of you!!!  Love you both and can’t wait for  y’all to get married & see what God has in store for you as a married couple!!!!  Thank you two soo much for wanting me to take these photos, it meant the world to capture them!!!!!!

Photography is in my blood and seeking truth is in my soul. Which is a deep way of saying, I’ve loved to take photos for a really long time, y’all. I’d love to share my story with you then listen to yours.

One of the most important choices you’ll make while planning your wedding is choosing your photographer. Think about it—the flowers will wilt, the food will be devoured, but your photos? They’re what will bring you right back to the moments that matter most, long after the day is over. So.. it’s crucial to research and […]

I met up with Brittany, Chris and their little girl at the Biltmore House for both couples portraits and family photos and it was the sweetest afternoon. It was right as everything was starting to bloom so we had beautiful color and the most amazing weather. We wandered around the grounds and took photos in […]
