Back in My Wedding Dress. . .

Gary and I got married on a beautiful day back in October 2007… well me being the photographer that I am and being in love with pictures, decided that 2 years after getting married to get back in my wedding dress and Gary into a nice suit and take a few more pictures.  We had known for a few months that we’d be heading back to NC for two weeks over Christmas and knew we’d be in our favorite city of Wilmington, NC and really wanted to take our “wedding” pictures there…   So I contacted my friend Jessie Baker (who’s a photographer in Wilmington) to see if she’d be available to take a few non traditional photos.  At first she wasn’t supposed to be in the states but then as luck would have it, she was available and more than willing to meet up with us for a session in downtown Wilmington.  Thankfully it was a sunny day… haha but it wasn’t warm by any means.  So on a Monday afternoon in 30 degree weather I stepped out in my wedding dress for a few photos.  Thank you so much Jessie for bearing the cold weather with us, we love our photos!!  Here’s a few shots from the day. . .

After photographing dozens of weddings in this beautiful city, I’ve learned which months give you that dreamy, effortless light and which ones require some serious strategy […]

When someone says “we’re really drawn to candid wedding photos,” I know exactly what they mean, but I also know it means something different to every couple. And honestly? That’s part of what I love about it. Because candid doesn’t mean chaotic, and it definitely doesn’t mean careless.  Candid means intentional presence. It means pausing […]

I took a trip to Knoxville, TN to document Sarah & Andy’s engagement session.  They wanted to do their session where they will be getting married in 2026 and it was the best decision ever!  Not only did I get to meet and hang out with Sarah & Andy, but I also was able to […]
