The Best Photo Spots in Charleston, SC | Charleston Photographer

One of my absolute favorite places to visit is Charleston, SC! With its beautiful historic buildings (hello pastel buildings!) and streets combined with its Southern charm, Charleston is just one of those places that bring a smile to my face.

It’s also a perfect backdrop for any of your photos—engagement, bridal, family, senior, etc. And since I’m heading there at the end of March and have a limited number of spots available for some sessions, I wanted to highlight some of my favorite photo spots in the area.

Folly Beach

Folly Beach is magical. It’s the epitome of a Lowcountry beach and is close to downtown. It’s relaxed. It’s natural without all of the commercialization. I absolutely LOVE sunset photo sessions here!

The Streets of Historic Downtown Charleston

With its cobblestone streets and pastel buildings, you’re hard-pressed to find a bad photo spot in downtown Charleston. Rainbow Row, Tradd Street, St. Phillip’s Church, Church Street, the Mills House for a pink backdrop, the top of the stairs at Hibernian Hall (it has a black and white checkered floor), and so many other spots make this a fun area to have some photographs taken.

College of Charleston

If you’ve never visited the College of Charleston, it’s a must. It’s one of the most beautiful college campuses I’ve ever seen. There are so many places here that serve as a gorgeous photo background: The Cistern, College Way & Green Way are just a few of my favorite spots.

The Battery

The Battery is a seawall that was built during the Civil War as a defense mechanism, but has become a famous landmark in Charleston. There are so many beautiful photo spots here from the huge live oak trees to the ocean view to the historic mansions. You can easily walk here from Rainbow Row, too!

Tell me—do you have other favorite spots in Charleston?

And if you’re wanting to book a spot on my calendar for a session on March 28, let me know!

Photography is in my blood and seeking truth is in my soul. Which is a deep way of saying, I’ve loved to take photos for a really long time, y’all. I’d love to share my story with you then listen to yours.

When someone says “we’re really drawn to candid wedding photos,” I know exactly what they mean, but I also know it means something different to every couple. And honestly? That’s part of what I love about it. Because candid doesn’t mean chaotic, and it definitely doesn’t mean careless.  Candid means intentional presence. It means pausing […]

I took a trip to Knoxville, TN to document Sarah & Andy’s engagement session.  They wanted to do their session where they will be getting married in 2026 and it was the best decision ever!  Not only did I get to meet and hang out with Sarah & Andy, but I also was able to […]

Greenville, you’ve been a beautiful backdrop—but lately, I’ve fallen hard for something else: private estate weddings. If you’re dreaming of tying the knot somewhere that’s more your world than a checklist, a family home‑turned‑wedding‑day‑stage is where the real magic happens. Why private estates feel so right Authentic comfort from beginning to end It’s your space. […]
