Greenville Wedding Photographer | Kenzie & Derrick

In January I officially started offering photography coaching/mentoring (whatever you want to call it 🙂 ) and y’all I LOVE it!! I love getting to help other photographers grow and learn both with their photography & business.  One of the photographers I was mentoring asked about posing and so I threw out the idea of getting together and me showing her how I pose and what I am thinking through when I pose and all that jazz!!  So a few Saturday’s ago I met up with Devin to go over what I do with my couples when it comes to “posing”.  Y’all I have never talked through why or how I do things so this was as much of a learning experience for me as it was for Devin and I am just soo thankful that she was up for giving it a go with me!!  I loved it so much and learned so much from teaching posing that I’m now going to include a posing session in my mentor/coaching collections and that makes me all sorts of excited!!  Working with my clients and making them feel comfortable and then getting images that they will love is one of my favorite pieces of my business.  I have been in front of numerous photographers cameras and the worst feeling in the world is NOT knowing what to do or where to look or where to put my hands or just feeling downright awkward…. so I like to make sure when anyone is in front of my camera they feel comfortable & know what to do.  If you look at my images you’ll notice that I don’t just pose my clients.  The majority of my sessions my clients are moving and doing something.  Yes I get those “money shots” where they are looking at the camera and you’re posed… but more often than not we are dancing and walking and laughing and having fun!!! I love capturing my clients personalities and their relationships more than anything!!  So all of that to say I loved getting to walk Devin through what I do during sessions & at weddings with my couples.

I have to give a HUGE shout out to Kenzie & Derrick for helping me out with this session!!  THANK Y’ALL soo much for wanting to get back in front of my camera and also brave the COLD & RAIN!!!  It’s crazy to think that it’s almost been a year since I documented these two on their wedding day!!!  They are so sweet and so much fun and I just love any time that I get to spend with them!!!!  Here are just a handful of the images that I happened to get while I was teaching Devin!!  You’ll notice the ground is wet…. it rained ALL day and finally stopped as we were doing the session but I am soo soo thankful for parking garages that have pretty light and still allow for images that I love!!
