Spartanburg Wedding Photographer | Surprise Proposal

Lucas contacted me MONTHS ago to photograph the moment he asked Morgan to marry him.  So plans were set in motion (what we thought was a solid “plan”)… and then Morgan almost didn’t have me photograph her proposal because we found out a few weeks prior to everything taking place that she knew what was happening.   Soooo there goes Lucas & I trying to pull everything we could out of thin air to make this moment happen!!!  You see, Morgan has been an intern with me since later spring and so I’ve heard all about Lucas and their future and how when he proposes it needed to be photographed, etc… So I knew how much it meant to her to have this exact moment documented… but it turns out she isn’t surprisable (that’s not a word I don’t think.. but whatever!!) and figures everything out.  So if I was going to capture Lucas asking Morgan to marry him I had to be sneaky!!!  So I conjured up a story about needing her help at a session and he just happened to be driving her, since he was going to be with her she asked if I minded snapping a quick picture of the two of them for her mom (so she was actually dressed cute) and yada yada…. Lucas & I had talked about the sign for when he was to do it but for the life of me the light wasn’t how I wanted it so I kept stalling until finally it was time for me to snap a quick picture and Lucas went down on a knee and Morgan didn’t see it coming!!!!!  She told us afterwards that she really had no idea she thought she was there to really help with a session 🙂 and I was just being nice to take a quick picture while I tested light for my “session”.  Y’all it was the sweetest moment and I am soo soo honored to have been there documenting it for these two!!!  After the proposal we went straight into a couples session that Lucas planned for her so we snapped a few engagement images!! Such a fun evening!! Lucas, thank you for wanting me to photograph this moment in y’alls love story for you!!!  So without further ado… here are a few of my favorite images from Lucas & Morgan’s surprise proposal a few weeks ago!!

I’m not sure where to start with Caroline & Will’s wedding day.  It was one of those days that I will NEVER forget.  Part of that may be because my oldest daughter was with me but also just how sweet of an afternoon it was for these two.   Caroline & Will planned the sweetest weekend for them […]

There’s something undeniably magical about a Biltmore Estate wedding. Maybe it’s the grandeur of the largest privately owned home in America, or the rolling Blue Ridge Mountain backdrop that feels straight out of a European fairytale. Either way, if you’re getting married at Biltmore Estate, you already know this is more than just a venue—it’s […]

Katie & Will had the most beautiful wedding weekend in Greenville, SC. The weekend started with their rehearsal at First Presbyterian Church in Greenville. They traveled over to Urban Wren where they had the sweetest time with their family and friends for a their rehearsal dinner. The evening was filled with so much love and […]
