Four years ago my best friend was planning her wedding and since I was her matron of honor she gave me the task of helping her find a wedding photographer because well I’d be standing by her that day!! Melissa’s words to me were “find someone like you Kendra, because you’re who I’d want to photograph the wedding if you weren’t in it”… So I set off to find her a photographer. I know I sent her countless links and at the end of the day I discovered Jamie!! She wasn’t local for where Melissa’s wedding was, but she was willing to travel and Melissa really liked her!! Well fast forward to the next year when wedding time came and of course whenever I wasn’t chasing the flower girl around, or doing MOH duties, or just enjoying my best friends big day, or catching up with friends… I was chatting it up with Jamie!!! We had just found out we were making the move from Texas to little Spartanburg, SC so we talked about that and she mentioned that she grew up, up the highway from where we would be living in North Carolina. Our husbands ended up hitting it off and we ended up walking away from the wedding with new friends!!
Well last summer we planned to spend a little time at the camp my dad is a director at. And because I wanted to make sure we documented our family about the same age for Kenlee as we did for Kenzie I asked Jamie if she’d come down to the camp (which is a little drive down 95 from where she lives) and photograph us one morning. Well all of this to say… since bugging her sometime last spring her and I have become good friends!! We both have girls that we love but also that drive us bonkers 😉 and we are photographers … many days we’ll say to each other “gosh I wish we lived in the same town”!! Jamie is crazy funny, kind, and an amazing friend, mother, wife, and photographer and it has been so much fun getting to know her these last few years!! Well after she took our family photos she asked me to take family photos of them!! We were planning on doing the session when they were visiting her family last August but it didn’t work out… but we finally figured out a date and so when they were around over Easter weekend I headed up the highway one evening to document this sweet family!!
Y’all I definitely felt like I was photographing my own family!! I loved my time with them and now even more than ever I wish we lived in the same zip code!!! Jamie & Daniel, thank y’all for wanting me to photograph your sweet family!! Here are just a few of my favorite images from their session!!
Soo glad I was able to get a few photos of just the two of them 🙂 :)!!!
