This maternity session is crazy close to my heart & was such an honor to photograph!! In case you missed my post back in January… I am getting ready to be an aunt!!!!! And an aunt to a little boy!! AHHH SOO STINKING EXCITED!!!!
A few months ago Cara asked me to send her the names of photographers where she lives since I now live in the Greenville/Spartanburg area. Of course I sent her some of my favorites which also happen to be some of my dearest friends… but after her & David looked at them I got a text that said… “what if we flew you down here to take our maternity photos?”…. (AND LET ME SAY… I got the text not because she doesn’t love the photographers I sent it… it was because at the end of the day since I had Kenzie and my little sister dreamed of having her own baby she has said “I want you to be the one to take all of our family photos”)
Well how on earth do you say no to that? ESPECIALLY if it’s your little sister and her first baby!!!!! I totally jumped at the opportunity to head back to TX to photograph Cara & David & soon to be baby O!!!
Y’all I am in love with these photos… but ohh geeze, this session (and by that I need to give you a little back story)… Houston and surrounding areas had been hit HARD by rain prior to me heading down to take these photos… which mix rain, standing water for a long period of time, and gross heat… produces GIGANTIC MOSQUITO’S… like the size of small birds (I’m really NOT kidding)!!! The light that morning was amazing… my sister looked amazing… David, well he’ll say he ALWAYS looks amazing… but y’all it was nasty hot, muggy, and from the time we stepped out of the car we were ambushed by these enormous mosquito’s…. THANK GOODNESS my friend Nathalie that tagged along to the session with us had bug spray in her car… because without it, well I don’t think we would have come out of this session in one piece!!!! So yes I can “ohh geeze” this session for days because it was one that I will NOT forget!!!!
But getting to photograph these two was a dream!! Yes, they were swatting away ginormous insects, but they sure were a lot of fun to photograph!!!!
Good gravy I can’t wait to meet baby O!!!!!!
Cara & David, thank y’all soo soo much for wanting me to be the one to photograph these photos for you… to document not only the love you have for one another, but the love you have for this sweet little one that I get to call my nephew!!! I love you guys soo soo much & I’m so stinking proud of you guys!!! Can’t wait to see y’all again in August AND meet baby O!!!!!
