October 26th was such an awesome day.  The weather was beyond amazing, a day spent with my sweet family, one of my best friends was down to hang out & snap some photos during my session, and I got to hang out with a friend I hadn’t seen in years and her sweet boyfriend AND take their photos… and let’s just say it was an amazing session!!  Between the light, the fun, the company, the outfits, and the chemistry of Elspeth & Kevin… it was a session for the books… and a session I would do over and over and over again if I could because I loved every minute of it!!!

I first met Elspeth when she was probably a freshman or sophomore in high school & I was in college & we were both working a church event.  Y’all she was just as sweet & amazing as a high schooler as she is now as a young adult & I am soo very thankful that we’ve been able to stay in touch.  After we first met we then saw each other at over events over the next few years but then I got married and moved all over the place and she went to college we just didn’t get to see each other again… and if it wasn’t for technology we probably would have lost touch completely.  It’s probably been 8ish years since we’ve actually seen each other, but it didn’t feel like it when her & Kevin walked into the house that Sunday afternoon.  It felt like it had maybe been a few weeks since we’d seen each other and we were just catching up & I LOVED that… and honestly it didn’t seem like I was just meeting Kevin for the first time!!  It was so much fun getting to know Kevin & catch up with Elspeth & see Kenzie almost immediately ask them to play with her (she’s not the type to just go play or have ANYTHING to do with you if you’re new, she likes to take it all in and then if she approves ask you to play…) and they didn’t hesitate one bit!!!  So yeah, October 26th was a really good day!!!

After hanging out for a little bit, we headed to downtown Spartanburg to take photos!!  Y’all, this city has some amazing spots and I am LOVING discovering all of them!!!!  This session was not only a couples session for these two, Elspeth asked if I minded taking photos of some of the clothes and beauties she’s made.  Yes, you heard that correctly… she makes clothes.  Her and her mom own Belles of Cotton (click on that link and go check them out… you WILL NOT be sorry you did) and they make amazing skirts, beauties, dresses (Kenzie’s flower girl dress was custom made by them and it is BEAUTIFUL), pillows and all sorts of other things.  Back to the session :)… So when she asked me to take photos of the clothes I was so excited because I’ve seen the way she styles things and I couldn’t wait to see what skirts and beau ties she’d bring with her and how she would style them.  She did not disappoint!! Everything was put together so amazingly & I fell in love with all four of the skirts we photographed and kept thinking of reasons why I could buy Gary beauties for him to wear :).

Elspeth & I didn’t talk about locations other than her knowing we’d do two outfits in downtown Spartanburg, and then two outfits out in the country/nature… I feel like she totally read my mind and picked out the perfect outfits for each of the different locations!!  As I was editing I kept thinking maybe I told her exactly where we’d be shooting and what the locations looked like… but in reality I was still scouting locations just hours before they arrived!!!  So thankful she trusted me locations and they all ended up being so perfect for this session!!!!

Elspeth & Kevin, y’all are AMAZING together!!!!!!  Just thinking about the two of you makes me smile!!

Both the skirts Elspeth is wearing are the Olivia Mini and they are wonderful!!! I have one & I love it!!!  I will be wearing it ALL winter long!!!
