The fact that these four live within an hour of me just makes me all giddy and smiley!! GRANTED, I haven’t made the trip to have our kiddos play together yet… but I definitely see our families spending some time together!!!! Nikki is one of my oldest, dearest, and most treasured friendships. She’s not just my friend, she’s a sister to me and always has been. I am the oldest child, but from the time I met Nikki when I was a braces wearing, curly puff hairdo, scared little middle schooler (maybe even elementary schooler… we can’t remember the exact moment we met… we just know it was WAY BACK in the day :)) she has looked out for me, taught me, loved me, been there for me and been such an example to me… so yeah, she’s my older “sis”!!! The last time I saw Nikki was when her & miss C came to my sweet baby shower back home almost 3 years ago… and while we haven’t seen each other very often since college when we lived with one another… EVERY time I see her it’s like not a day has gone by & we’re right back to being Nikki & Kendra and my heart is always so full!!! So when I texted her sometime this spring well before we announced we were moving and asked “HEY!! How far is “insert city” from Spartanburg”, she answered something like “about an hour… WHY?!”… well you know where the story goes from there… I excitedly spilled the news that I’d be that close to her and she was excited for us!!! In the time it’s been since we last saw each other I had my first baby 🙂 and she had her 2nd (AND HER BABIES ARE ADORABLE!!!!!!) & I couldn’t wait to meet the newest addition to this sweet family… Well a few weeks ago, her love (whom I love like a big brother!!), her beautiful little girl & adorable little boy made the trip to Spartanburg, SC for family photos!!!
I honestly wasn’t sure when I woke up the morning of the session if these photos were even going to happen… and even an hour prior to meeting them I was unsure because it rained, and rained and rained ALL DAY!!!! BUT Nikki & Dave knew that getting our schedules aligned might not happen again so they took the chance and drove down and we had a cloudy & windy, yet BEAUTIFUL window of time to take photos!!! And can I say with it being in the lower 50’s maybe colder I can’t remember (all I know is we had had warm weather and then had this cold front hit us that day)… it was cold and these four rocked it and did awesome and the kids did amazing and I love that despite the weather I was able to capture these memories for them!!!
I will say that when we were done, we were done 🙂 and these two little cuties very nicely let us know it!! Mainly by turning blue because they were sooo cold!!!
Nikki, Dave, Miss C, & Mr. E… ohh how I loved spending even just a small piece of time with you four. Seeing your family together for my first time made my heart so full & seeing the love you have for one another and remembering it right now makes me so incredibly happy & blessed & thankful that I have your family in my life to look to as examples!!! Love you all so much & loved having you in front of my camera!!!!! Can’t wait to see y’all soon!!!!
