I got so excited when I saw that Hillary wanted to do family photos… and then I read she wanted to do them in August and thought to myself “I won’t be in Texas anymore, I’ll be in South Carolina”… and then remembered “I HAVE A WEDDING IN AUGUST, I’LL BE BACK”.. so I quickly let her know when I was going to be available for a session the weekend I was back in town and the rest is history because met up on a HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT, Texas, Friday evening for family photos and it was delightful!!! The girls were awesome and the light was amazing and I kept thinking to myself that I sure am going to miss this Texas light!!!
I definitely miss that light AND clients like Hillary & Jacob and their two precious girls!! I have been photographing their family since their oldest was born and at each milestone it’s been both and honor and so much fun to be spending time with them again!! This particular Friday evening was just amazing (minus the heat & humidity) and thinking back on the session makes me so excited for the friendships that I will prayerfully develop through photography here in Spartanburg. Hillary & Jacob aren’t just clients, they are friends and their family means a lot to me. Before we made the decision in 2012 for me to stay home with Kenzie & do photography full time I worked full time at a church. Before I went on maternity leave it was a fact that I was going back to work and I had to find child care for Kenzie. I knew Hillary had been using a lady for her oldest when she went back to work and I knew she had really liked her so I contacted Hillary to find out who it was, etc. etc… well long story short Hillary had decided a few months prior that that fall (she was a school teacher) she wouldn’t be heading back to teach… she was going to stay home and love on her eldest & maybe watch a handful of other kids if the right ones popped up… she let me know that she’d love to watch Kenzie when I went back to work… so for I think 6 or maybe 8 weeks (I can’t remember now how long it was before I made my change to stay at home mommy/full time photographer) Kenzie was loved on by this incredibly sweet family!! They were an answer to prayer and we were so blessed to have Hillary watch our sweet girl so early in her life… and for that I can’t thank her & Jacob enough!!!
Hillary & Jacob, I have LOVED getting to know your family over the last four (ahh has it been that long… CRAZY) years and I love documenting y’alls lives!!! Thank y’all soo soo soo soo much for wanting me to photograph your family!!! Know that I will be back :)… but if y’all are ever up here in Spartanburg visiting family yell at me!!!!

Wow…what a gorgeous selection of photos for this beautiful family!
Gorgeous! And these outfits could definitely be used on a ‘what to wear’ guide. Love how they’re all coordinated!
