You might recognize these two from their engagement session back in December. 🙂 🙂 Kimberly & John tied the knot on a VERY beautiful… yet.. VERY HOT, August, Saturday afternoon. This was one of the sweetest days & it was so much fun to be there to capture it all!! The ceremony took place at West U Baptist Church which also happens to be the church Kimberly grew up in. John & Kimberly were surrounded by so many of their family & friends that love and support them that day… from the moment I walked in the doors and received a big hug from Kimberly & such a sweet hello from her bridesmaids I knew it was going to be an afternoon & evening filled with nothing but love for these two.   The whole wedding had so many hand touches and I loved that about this wedding. From the lace on Kimberly’s veil & garter being part of her moms wedding gown, to one of her younger sisters actually making both of those two sentimental pieces, to the bouquets, and then to so many other little details… there was sooo much love and work put into this day!!!! I adore that Kimberly & John dated in high school… then went their separate ways but while at college they reconnected and well… now the rest is history & what an honor it was to capture just a snippet of their love story.
Kimberly & John wanted to have more time celebrating with their guests after the ceremony so they decided to do a first look!! AND what a sweet first look it was!! Kimberly still wanted to have her dad walk her to John as a symbol of him giving her away like he would do later that day as he walked down the aisle of the church. After what I am assuming from the look on her face were sweet words spoken by her dad & then a giant father/daughter hug, he joined his sweet wife & John’s sweet mother in the balcony. I LOVED seeing the look on John’s face as he saw his bride for the first time that day. I have rewritten this sentence a billion times because I can’t quite put into words the beautiful way he looked at the woman that would be his wife in just a few short hours. This is a man that not only loves this woman with all his heart, but He also loves God, and that love for both was so evident the second he turned around and saw Kimberly & then embraced her. What I love even more is he had the same look in his eyes as Kimberly walked down the aisle towards him a short time later for the ceremony. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE being able to capture love!! I also love getting to photograph first looks & the intimate time the bride & groom have of just the two of them before the rest of the day gets underway (because let’s face it… once the ceremony happens it’s on to the reception and it might be after they say goodbye that the bride & groom get to just be them)… I sit here and smile because photographing weddings is one of my most favorite things & writing about the weddings I photograph is so much fun because I get to relive that day… ohh how I love living & reliving wedding days!!
After all the formal photos with the family & bridal party… I somehow managed to talk these two into just stepping outside for just a few minutes to take a few photos of just the two of them in the beautiful daylight… I think we all died (from the heat) in those very brief moments but I am so glad we did because I love the images soo soo much!! After that Kimberly & John headed to their separate rooms until it was time for the ceremony!! I love that when I walked into the guys room they were playing hangman and when I walked into the brides room they were praying… these two are so incredibly laid back and a total joy to be around!!!! Kimberly & John, I loved being able to photograph your wedding day for y’all. I loved watching y’all recite your vows, take communion, light the unity candle and pray with your pastor (whom has loved the two of you for a very long time since he’s known y’all for so long)… your ceremony was so incredibly sweet… y’alls love is so sweet & I have loved getting to know the two of you since last year!! Here are just a few of my favorite images from the first part of their wedding day!! 🙂 Be sure to check back later in the week when I post images from their reception!!!
