Janine’s maternity session… {Houston, TX – Photographer}

So let me just start this off by saying… if you send someone an email on Pinterest, know that you aren’t going to get their response when they respond back to that email :).  I say that because Janine sent me a photo of a dress/look on Pinterest and even asked if I’d be up for doing her maternity session a while back.  Well of course I’d LOVE to do her maternity session… I was honored/ecstatic/couldn’t believe she wanted me to be the one to take her maternity photos.  Well I responded via the little message I’d received telling her all of that… needless to say, she never got that message!!!  Somehow we ended up realizing that the message was never received… and I still was able to take her maternity photos :)!!

I love photographing sessions outside, and I’m particularly in love with sessions that are in wide open fields.  I knew from the git-go that Janine was looking for an outdoors/field look so I had the perfect location in mind.  So a few Thursday’s ago I met up with Janine (whom had a trunk load of awesome props) to take her maternity photos.  I have used chairs and small props but never really done the whole “styled” shoot thing before, so I was in for a learning experience… and it was so much fun.  I’m just glad Janine is great with decorating and what not b/c placement and getting all of the awesome things she used together never would have happened if it hadn’t been for her.  Granted I would have figured it all out, but it more than likely wouldn’t have been so great and reflected her and her baby girl Charlotte!!

Janine you are such an amazing friend and I am so honored that you wanted me to take your maternity photos.  I had a blast and loved spending the evening with you.  Thank you so much for your friendship!!  You are an amazing friend & I love having you in my life.  I can’t wait to meet Charlotte!!!

Here’s a few photos from the session…

Photography is in my blood and seeking truth is in my soul. Which is a deep way of saying, I’ve loved to take photos for a really long time, y’all. I’d love to share my story with you then listen to yours.

I met up with Sarah & Lee in downtown Spartanburg for their engagement session and it was the dreamiest evening. We walked around downtown talking about all the things from how they met, what they love to do and even a little wedding planning talk. These two are some of the easiest humans to be […]

Let me set the scene: Live oaks dripping with Spanish moss, waterfront backdrops that look like a Nicholas Sparks novel (but with less drama), and architecture that makes you want to whisper just out of respect. South Carolina is not messing around when it comes to wedding venues. Whether you’re planning an all-out wedding weekend […]

Kelsey & Tate were married overlooking Lake Norman at The Peninsula Club. The day was one of those days that you couldn’t beat weather wise. There was a cloud in the sky and it was just right with the temperature. Kelsey got ready with her ladies at her parents house where even her sweet pup […]
