Emily & Matt Engagement Session… {Katy, Texas Engagement Photographer}

Back at the beginning of 2010 Emily, her mom and Matt came by the church where I work (when I don’t have a camera in front of my face) to check out the space for their 2011 wedding.   They just happened to ask the wedding director if she knew of any photographers, so she brought them downstairs and we met.  I was smitten with this couple the very first time we met and I just crossed my fingers that they would like my work and then want me to photograph their wedding.  Well June arrived and I received an email from Emily telling me they wanted to book ME!! (of course I was all giddy and excited b/c I hadn’t even started to think about 2011, much less book anything yet)… so  Emily, Matt, her mom and I met one Friday to finalize everything and get to know one another and I feel for them even more.  They are just the sweetest couple… they love each other so much and they are high school sweethearts (which of course resonates with me!! 🙂 ).  So on Halloween the three of us met up for their engagement session.  We couldn’t have asked for more beautiful weather or day.  As soon as they pulled up and we started chatting and then I realized Emily brought a whole basket of props, I realized that this girl is a girl after my own heart and we were going to have a fun next hour (and we did!!).  Thank you two for such a fun evening and for being willing to do whatever (and for allowing me to graciously step in nice wet mud to get the shots!! 😉 ).  I am so glad that I met the two of you and I have had the chance to get to know you more and more.  I can not wait to capture your special day next year.  Thank you for wanting me to be part of your engagement and wedding!!

Here’s a few shots from the session..

When couples ask me about Charleston wedding season, I always start with the same honest truth: Charleston is gorgeous year-round, but timing makes all the difference for your photos. After photographing dozens of weddings in this beautiful city, I’ve learned which months give you that dreamy, effortless light and which ones require some serious strategy […]
