Ryan’s Bar Mitzvah part I…

Last December when Ryan’s mom contacted me to take pictures of his Bar Mitzvah I didn’t really think much of it and jumped at the chance.  But as the weekend got closer and closer I started freaking out because I had never been to a bar mitzvah before.  I realized closer to the time though that the reason that I was taking pictures at two separate times was because we wouldn’t be able to take pictures on the sabbath day.  I was a little bummed because I did want to experience something new (I love to learn about everything, and this would have been something new for me).  So on a hot Friday evening I arrived thankfully on time (b/c of course I would get lost!!)  I spent the next little bit getting candids of Ryan practicing for what he’d be doing the next morning, posed family shots, as well as candids of all the family that came from all over the country to celebrate the time in Ryan’s life.  So here’s a few shots from Friday night.  Check back in a few days because I’ll post quite a few from the party they had on Saturday…

Ryan and family… Thank you so much for trusting me to capture this special time for you.  Ryan, I wish you nothing but the best!!!

Photography is in my blood and seeking truth is in my soul. Which is a deep way of saying, I’ve loved to take photos for a really long time, y’all. I’d love to share my story with you then listen to yours.

After photographing dozens of weddings in this beautiful city, I’ve learned which months give you that dreamy, effortless light and which ones require some serious strategy […]

When someone says “we’re really drawn to candid wedding photos,” I know exactly what they mean, but I also know it means something different to every couple. And honestly? That’s part of what I love about it. Because candid doesn’t mean chaotic, and it definitely doesn’t mean careless.  Candid means intentional presence. It means pausing […]

I took a trip to Knoxville, TN to document Sarah & Andy’s engagement session.  They wanted to do their session where they will be getting married in 2026 and it was the best decision ever!  Not only did I get to meet and hang out with Sarah & Andy, but I also was able to […]
