Senior Portraits

Marygrace :)… {Richmond, TX, Senior Portrait Photographer}

I was trying so hard to wait and post these for a few more weeks, but I just can’t help myself :)!!

I realized that I have done a tone of my senior portrait sessions this year in “greenery” (if that’s even a word, let’s just use nature).  I  love to shoot out in nature/the country (there’s something about being outside in a field that just makes you feel at home and I LOVE IT!!).  I realized though that I haven’t been able to show off the fact that I also love to shoot in city-scapes.  There’s just something about shooting in alley ways, against old & new buildings that I love.  I really love that I can use my surroundings to capture light and then reflect it onto my client, or I can hide it ever so slightly and let it peak behind a water tower, I love being able to have clients stroll down the middle of the street with the town/city all around them, I simply love to shoot around buildings/structures.

All of that being said, I facebooked Marygrace (I shot her senior pictures a few months back) and asked her if she’d be up to doing a little photoshoot with me in a downtown area.  I am so thankful that she didn’t think I was crazy!!  She said yes, brought a trunk load of outfits and for a little over an hour we played around with our locations, outfits, shoes, chairs and the surroundings!!

Hopefully if you’ve wondered… “Does she shoot anywhere other than in the country?”, that these pictures show you…  because YES, I do… please don’t ever be afraid to ask me to shoot somewhere different (I’m up for new challenges and new places!!)

Marygrace, thank you for a fun Sunday afternoon!!!  Here’s a few shots from our downtown session…

Photography is in my blood and seeking truth is in my soul. Which is a deep way of saying, I’ve loved to take photos for a really long time, y’all. I’d love to share my story with you then listen to yours.

Some of my favorite photographs from a wedding weekend are taken with everyone in khakis. I’ve been thinking about that lately. After almost twenty years of photographing weddings, I’ve learned that the moments my couples come back to years later are not always the ones you would expect.  The first look matters. The vows matter. […]

Rachel & Ben were married on an incredible fall weekend in the upstate of South Carolina.  The weekend started out with family and friends celebrating these two at the Greenville Country Club for the rehearsal dinner.  The included hugs, the most beautiful toasts, and Ben grabbing his guitar and playing/singing for guests.  That evening set […]

For the last few years I’ve photographed Ballet Spartanburg’s performances of the Nutcracker.  It is an honor to capture these incredible students and professional dancers that share the stage for this family favorite in the heart of Spartanburg, SC.  Most years I capture the dress rehearsals, this past year due to a wedding in Charleston […]
